This page explains how InsideBingo content is researched, written, checked and kept up to date. Bingo is a gambling topic, and our state law and online bingo pages can affect real decisions about money. We hold those pages to the strictest standard.
Our principles
- Accuracy over speed. If we can’t verify a fact, we leave it out or say plainly that it’s uncertain.
- Answer first. Every page starts with a direct answer, then the detail.
- Independence. No operator, app or advertiser can buy coverage, a verdict or a change to a page.
- Player safety. We never encourage gambling, never promise wins and always point readers to help.
How we research
We prefer primary sources and use them in this order:
- Laws and official records. State statutes, administrative rules, bills on legislature websites, court filings and federal law such as the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
- Regulators. State gaming commissions, charitable gaming divisions, attorneys general and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
- Operators’ own documents. Official rules, terms of service and published policies from halls and apps.
- Reputable news and trade press. Major news outlets and established gaming industry publications, used especially for recent law changes and court cases, ideally confirmed by more than one outlet.
Pages that make legal, historical or statistical claims list their sources at the bottom of the page.
How we fact-check
- Legal claims are checked against the statute, regulator or a reliable report of the enacted law, including effective dates. Where a law is ambiguous or untested, we say so.
- Numbers and odds are computed, not estimated. Card counts, call counts and probabilities on our pages come from our own calculations or simulations, using the standard 75-ball, 90-ball and other card structures.
- Product claims about apps and sites are checked against their current terms and app store listings.
- Phone numbers and links to help services are checked against the organization’s own website.
How we handle legal information
Gambling law in the US is set mostly by states and changes often. Our state and online bingo pages:
- describe what the law says, not what we think it should say,
- give dates for changes (“In 2025, California banned…”),
- link to the regulator or law wherever possible,
- carry a reminder that they are general information, not legal advice.
If you need advice about a specific situation, such as running a fundraiser or operating a game, talk to your state regulator or a licensed attorney.
Use of AI
InsideBingo content is researched and drafted with the help of AI tools, then reviewed by our editors. AI drafts are treated like any other draft: facts are checked against the sources listed above, calculations are re-run, and anything we can’t verify is removed. We don’t publish fake reviews, invented quotes, made-up experts or first-person stories that didn’t happen. Pages are credited to the InsideBingo Editorial Team.
Update schedule
| Content | How often we review it |
|---|---|
| State law and online bingo pages | At least every 3 months, and whenever a relevant law passes or takes effect |
| App and site information | At least every 6 months, and when products or terms change |
| Rules, patterns, games and hosting guides | At least once a year |
| Responsible gaming resources | At least every 6 months |
The “Updated” date at the top of each page shows when it was last reviewed or changed.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Email [email protected] with the page address and what you believe is wrong, ideally with a source. We aim to review reports within a few business days. Significant corrections, such as a change to a legal status, are fixed promptly and the page’s updated date is changed.
Independence and conflicts of interest
InsideBingo is not currently monetized. We don’t take payment from bingo operators, apps or sweepstakes companies. If we add advertising or affiliate links in the future, we will disclose them clearly on the About page and on every page where they appear, and they will never affect our legal explanations, safety warnings or verdicts. We don’t link to or recommend offshore or unlicensed gambling sites.
