Quick answer
Yes. Bingo is legal in Delaware when a licensed charitable organization runs it under Title 28, Chapter 15 of the Delaware Code, overseen by the Board of Charitable Gaming. Players must be 18. Delaware has legal online casinos through the state lottery, but we found no real-money online bingo, and regulators have pushed sweepstakes casinos out.

Is bingo legal in Delaware?
Yes, for licensed charities. Delaware’s constitution permits charitable gaming, and Title 28, Chapter 15 of the Delaware Code sets the rules. Games can only be run by organizations licensed under that chapter, and only in areas that have voted in favor of such games by referendum.
Oversight belongs to the Delaware Board of Charitable Gaming, a five-member panel that includes a representative of the State Lottery Office, a nonprofit member, a volunteer firefighter and two members of the public. The state’s Division of Professional Regulation handles applications and investigations.
Delaware has no federally recognized tribes running casinos, so there is no tribal bingo here.
How old do you have to be to play bingo in Delaware?
You must be 18. Section 1526 of Title 28 says no person under 18 may participate in a bingo game.
Teens can still help out. The same section lets 16- to 18-year-olds assist in conducting the game, and anyone over 14 can serve food and drinks at a bingo event.
Can you play online bingo for real money in Delaware?
It’s unclear, and in practice the answer is no. Delaware was one of the first states to launch legal online casino gaming, run through the Delaware Lottery for players 21 and over. But the lottery’s online lobby is built around slots and table games, and we found no licensed real-money bingo rooms as of October 2026.

Are sweepstakes bingo sites legal in Delaware?
Effectively not. Delaware hasn’t passed a sweepstakes-specific ban, but regulators say existing gambling law already covers these sites. The Division of Gaming Enforcement sent cease-and-desist orders to VGW, owner of Chumba Casino, in 2023 and again in 2025, and VGW pulled its sweepstakes play from the state.
More exits followed. RealPrize and LoneStar stopped Sweeps Coins play for Delaware accounts on August 21, 2026, after their own cease-and-desist letters, and most major brands now block Delaware addresses. Our sweepstakes bingo explainer explains what happens to your balance when an operator leaves a state.
Can Delaware charities sell pull-tabs at bingo?
Yes, with a license. Delaware’s law calls them “instant or sealed games” and defines them as any pull-tab game. Unlike bingo itself, which is limited in hours and ends by 1 a.m., instant games may be sold during any event the licensed organization sponsors, regardless of the day or time.
The same chapter also lets licensed groups run raffles, charitable casino-style nights and Texas Hold’em tournaments, each with its own rules.
Where can you play bingo in Delaware?
Charity bingo in Delaware is mostly run by volunteer fire companies, churches, veterans posts and fraternal lodges.
We haven’t listed specific halls because we couldn’t verify current schedules. Local fire companies and posts usually post their bingo nights on their own websites or social media pages.
How to run a charity bingo game in Delaware
Delaware’s rules are detailed, so read Subchapter V before your first game:
- Confirm your group qualifies under Chapter 15 and that games are approved in your area.
- Apply to the Board of Charitable Gaming for a license or permit through the Division of Professional Regulation.
- Stay inside the prize limits. No game may pay more than $350, and all prizes on one occasion together can’t exceed $3,000. Promotional giveaways are capped at $500 a year.
- Watch the clock. No bingo or charitable gaming may take place after 1 a.m.
- Share your building carefully. Unless grandfathered before July 14, 1998, only one licensed organization may hold bingo in another licensed organization’s building in a given week.
