Quick answer
Bridal shower bingo is played during gift opening. Each guest gets a card filled with common registry gifts, like a stand mixer, wine glasses or a cutting board. As the bride-to-be unwraps each present, guests mark matching squares. The first guest to complete a full row, column or diagonal calls "Bingo!" and wins a prize.

Registry gifts are predictable in the best way. Almost every bride-to-be gets towels, a few kitchen gadgets and something for the bar cart, which makes the gift table a natural bingo caller. Bridal shower bingo turns that hour of “ooh” and “aah” into a game every guest can play from her chair.
How do you play bridal shower bingo?
Guests mark registry items as they are unwrapped, and the first complete line wins.
- Pass out a card and pen to each guest before gifts begin.
- Announce the pattern: a straight line in any direction, with the center as a free space.
- The maid of honor or a helper reads each gift aloud as it comes out of the bag.
- Guests cross off any square that matches. A set of four mugs still counts as one “Mugs” square.
- The first guest with five in a row calls “Bingo!” The helper checks her card against the gift list.
Decide ahead of time how loosely you will match. Most showers let “Bath towels” count for “Towels” and a “Cocktail shaker” count as nothing at all unless it is on the card.
How many bridal shower bingo cards should I print?
Print one per guest and add a handful of extras. If 25 guests RSVP’d, print 30. The generator at the top of this page shuffles the 50 gift squares onto each card, so every guest’s card is different. Set the number of cards, hit print, and you are done.
Cardstock in white or ivory looks nicer on a decorated table, but regular paper works fine. Tuck a card and a small pen into each place setting so guests find them on arrival.
Ways to switch up the game
- Guess-the-gift cards. Use our blank bingo card and have guests write in 24 gifts they think will show up. It is a fun icebreaker while people mingle.
- Multiple rounds. Play a single line first, then four corners, then a full-card blackout that usually lands near the final gift.
- Wedding word bingo. Swap gifts for wedding words (“Bouquet”, “First Dance”, “Garter”) and have the bride draw slips from her veil or a hat.
- Couple trivia bingo. Ask questions about the couple. The answer to each question is a square on the card, so guests who know the couple best mark the most.
What prizes work for bridal shower bingo?
Choose small treats a guest would enjoy using herself:
- Mini bottles of prosecco or sparkling cider
- Scented candles or bath bombs
- Monogrammed compact mirrors or lip balm
- A $10 coffee or bookstore gift card
- Leftover bouquet flowers wrapped in ribbon

Helpful tips for the host
- Keep a gift log. Someone should already be writing down gifts for thank-you notes. That same list verifies bingo winners.
- Seat older guests near the gifts so they can hear and see each item. Grandmothers are often the most competitive players in the room.
- Pace it. If the bride has 40 gifts, a single game will end early. Switch patterns after each winner to keep the energy up.

Frequently asked questions
How long does bridal shower bingo take?
It lasts as long as the gift opening, usually 30 to 60 minutes. A single-line game is often won within the first 10 to 15 gifts.
Can you play bridal shower bingo without gifts?
Yes. Write wedding words on slips of paper and draw them from a bowl. This suits a couples shower or a party where gifts are opened later.
How many prizes do I need for bridal shower bingo?
Plan on three to five prizes: one for the first line, one for four corners and one for a full card, plus a spare or two in case of a tie.
