Free Printable Baby Shower Bingo Cards (Unique Cards + Calling List)

Quick answer

To play baby shower bingo, give each guest a card filled with baby gifts like onesies, bottles and diaper cream. As the parent-to-be opens presents, guests mark any gift that matches a square on their card. The first guest to complete a straight line across, down or diagonally shouts "Bingo!" and wins a small prize.

52 unique words. Each card uses 24. More words means more varied cards.

Every card shows an ID like START-001. Enter the same set code with the same settings to rebuild the exact same cards and check a winner.

Gift opening is the longest stretch of most baby showers, and it is usually the moment guests drift to their phones. Baby shower bingo fixes that. Every present becomes a possible bingo square, so the room actually watches each box being unwrapped.

How do you play baby shower bingo?

Guests mark gifts as the parent-to-be opens them, and the first person with five in a row wins. Here is the full routine:

  1. Hand out one card and a pen per guest as people sit down for gifts.
  2. Announce the winning pattern. A single straight line (across, down or diagonal) is standard. The center square is free.
  3. Open presents one at a time. The host or a helper says each gift out loud: “Hooded towel!”
  4. Guests mark matches. If a gift is on their card, they cross it off. A pack of onesies counts as “Onesie,” even if there are five of them.
  5. First to finish a line yells “Bingo!” A helper checks the card against the opened gifts, and the winner picks a prize.

Agree on how strict to be before you start. Most hosts count close matches, so a “Pacifier clip” can count as “Pacifier.”

How many bingo cards do I need for a baby shower?

Print one card per guest plus five spares for late arrivals. For a typical shower of 15 to 30 guests, that means 20 to 35 cards. Use the generator at the top of this page: enter the number of cards, press print, and every card comes out with a different arrangement of gifts, so no two guests ever finish at the same moment.

Standard letter paper works fine. If you want cards guests can keep as a keepsake, print on light cardstock.

Tips for setting up the game

  • Check the registry first. If the parents registered for cloth diapers or a specific stroller, the gift list above will still match, because it uses general items rather than brand names.
  • Assign a gift announcer. The parent-to-be is busy reading cards and thanking people. A friend calling out each gift keeps the game moving.
  • Use a clipboard or hard surface. Guests often sit on couches. Paper plates work as a quick writing surface.
  • Keep a running list. Have someone jot down each gift as it is opened. This doubles as the thank-you note list and lets you verify a winning card in seconds.

Baby shower bingo variations

  • Four corners or blackout rounds. After the first line is won, keep going for four corners, then a full card. The blackout round usually ends near the last gift.
  • Write-your-own cards. Print blank bingo cards and ask guests to fill in 24 gifts they predict. It takes 5 minutes but is more personal.
  • Virtual shower bingo. For long-distance guests, email the printable cards ahead of time and play over video while the gifts are opened on camera.
  • Baby word bingo. Instead of gifts, call out baby-related words from a hat. This works for “sip and see” parties where there are no presents to open.

What are good prizes for baby shower bingo?

Small, useful, adult-friendly prizes work best because the winners are guests, not the baby. Popular picks:

  • Scented candles or hand soap
  • A coffee shop gift card ($5 to $10)
  • Mini succulents or flower bouquets taken from the centerpieces
  • Gourmet chocolate or cookies
  • Nail polish or lip balm sets

Plan for three to five prizes if you play several rounds. Our list of bingo prize ideas has more budget-friendly options.

Is baby shower bingo good for co-ed showers?

Yes. Because the squares are everyday baby items rather than inside jokes, partners, grandparents and friends who have never changed a diaper can all play. It is one of the few shower games that needs zero explanation beyond “mark what you see.” For more party games built on the same idea, see our bridal shower bingo cards or the complete guide to hosting a bingo night.

Frequently asked questions

When do you play bingo at a baby shower?

Hand out cards right before the parent-to-be starts opening gifts. The game runs alongside the gift opening, so guests stay engaged instead of watching quietly.

Can baby shower bingo have more than one winner?

Yes. Most hosts give a prize for the first line, then keep playing for four corners or a full card so more guests have a chance to win.

What if nobody has the gift that was just opened?

Nothing happens; guests simply wait for the next present. With 50 common gifts on the list, most registries will produce plenty of matches.

Should guests write their own baby shower bingo cards?

Some showers use blank cards and let guests guess gifts themselves, which is more personal but slower. Pre-filled cards from the generator above save time and still feel like a guessing game.
